2014 in the New World: Great new exciting ideas, possibilities and perspectives.

Will not start with a greeting. (its a new world, we don't follow set
rules but we aren't criminals or fraudsters)

To prove we are clean, we are formalising the operations of our newly
established but fast rising Open Minds Publications. (you wonder
what's all this?)

This site is run by Open Minds Publications and so does ibmatteu.wordpress.com.
"Why?" we offer thinking and cognitive services to the world through
mind boggling insights and new perspectives.

If you still don't understand, take an IQ test & find where you stand.
If you don't know how, never mind: we have you in our minds.
We are introducing an IQ & personality improvement section which will
include support services like counselling, mentorship and
psychotherapy through the Voluntary Mentorship Program.
Be inspired!

The New World will be transformed from a publications and awareness
platform to a forum. (don't ask why. Keep it for the forum)
You will log into the forums a simple mind and you will log off an
animal activist, gender activist, politician, technopreneur(like us:
@ibmatteu or Bill Gates or Strive Masiyiwa), a mentor or even a
religious guru (or even gay).
Just maintain an open mind!

In 2014 your tastes, preferences and needs (except the sexuality part)
are our focus.
Open Minds Publications in conjunction with the Voluntary Mentorship
Program will enlist the services of professionals and experts in
marketing, business startups, analysts and problem solvers.
You are lucky!

The whole idea is to open your mind to new approaches, new
perspectives, and new possibilities.

2014 embrace the New World, abandon the negativity and seeming
impossibilities and throw yourself into the New World shouting: I am
here!!!!!

Happy New Year :)

Important Group announcement about your account — My Opera to shut down

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Subject: Important announcement about your account — My Opera to shut down
To: ibmatteu@gmail.com

When My Opera was launched in 2001, it quickly became an important place
for us to meet with you. We have had much great interaction with you in our
forums and blogs. This whole idea of giving you a place where you could
blog, share photos and send emails turned into an interesting, and very
large, side project. Over the years, we've seen social media, blogging
sites and new messenger services pop up that offer more and better
features than we could possibly maintain. These offerings are their sole
business. You all know their names and you probably use their services
already.

The explosion of these sites and the amount of resources we need to
maintain our own service has changed our outlook on My Opera. We had a
good run for many years, but we believe your content could have a
better home elsewhere, so we have made the decision to shut down My
Opera as of March 1, 2014.

Your My Opera email account will also be discontinued on this date.

You can read more about the planned shutdown in our blog post:

You can still stay in the loop. Read our updates and news in our new
blog home, http://opera.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=437b4b2c073452be95855f3da&id=b9b04687fd&e=e6a7b359dc
- We hope we'll see you there.

A better way of actually getting things done

" I believe that our very survival depends upon us becoming better
systems thinkers." - Margaret J. Wheatley

As we close the year, it is that time again to review our goals and
set new ones for the coming year. Of the dozen people I asked this
week, none managed to achieve all the goals they set for themselves
for 2103. It gets even more daunting to start thinking of setting
bigger goals for next year, knowing how unlikely they are to be
achieved. For that reason, some people have stopped bothering
themselves with setting goals.
There is a better way of getting things done.
Look at people who are struggling to lose weight, for example. How
many actually lose the number of kilograms they set for themselves in
the period they want to? Very few indeed. Why is that?
This is because a big goal puts a huge burden on your mind. Some
over-exercise in order to lose weight quickly, while others starve
themselves. The end result is that most give up. Over-exercising leads
to over-exhaustion and sometimes injury, while starving yourself
increases hunger pangs, leading to over-eating and more weight gain.
Now look at someone who sets a system for exercise sessions. If you
schedule specific days and times for exercise each week and stick to
it for 21 days, it will become a habit. Once something becomes a
habit, you will begin to do it almost automatically and effortlessly.
The results will come without much pressure on your mind.
Another example, say you want to write a book. If you set it as a
goal, it will look daunting knowing that you need to write around
80,000 to 100,000 words. However, if you make it into a system it will
be much simpler to accomplish. I write at least three articles every
week, for the press, my blog and this newsletter, about 1,600 words in
total. Multiply that by 52 weeks and you get 83,200 words, enough for
a book!
A system makes difficult tasks easier. So, set up your schedule for
the important things you need to be doing weekly in 2014 and start
doing it, you will find the results amazing.

Movember & 16 Days of activism against violence on women

The 16 days of activism against violence on women.

Women in Zimbabwe suffer a lot of abuses at the hands of women.
It is the mother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, the 2nd wives and so called
'small house' that have the greatest influence on how men treat women.

I have witnessed several accounts when a woman suffers abuse all as a
result of another woman.
If women would stop hating themselves and ganged up to punish men that
abuse one of their own, then there would be a drastic reduction in
violence against them.

The best person to liberate women from the bondage of violence is
women themselves.
The efforts by women rights groups are commendable as we see more
women participate in empowerment programs but the thrust must be on
how women treat each other.

If every 'small house' or in-law considered the effects of their
actions on other women and started focusing on reconciling and raising
the dignity of womanhood, men would simply follow.
